OUR STORY
VWMason Technology Consultants was created in 2019 by Vernon Mason and Daryl Yakielashek. Over the past 30 years, Vernon and Daryl have worked together as designers, integrators, owners representatives, project managers, and technology consultants. They've completed arenas, stadiums, government, civic, house of worship, and hospitality projects. This experience culminated in Rogers Place, the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club's home, where Vernon and Daryl not only led the design, management, and operation of all the technology systems but were first introduced to partner Marielle Crisanti. Marielle worked under the Broadcast and Audio-Visual Contractor where she led the design and deployment of Rogers Places’ extensive IPTV system.

VERNON MASON
Principal Consultant & President
CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I
Vernon Mason, a 30-year veteran of technology design in the areas of sound, lighting, broadcast, scoreboard, and LED display systems, is President and Lead Consultant of VWMason Technology Consultants. He is passionate about his work and prefers to be hands-on, managing projects whenever possible. He spends his time out of the office running and cycling.
DARYL YAKIELASHEK
Principal Consultant & Managing Partner, CTS, CTS-D
Daryl is the managing partner for VWMason Technology Consultants and has been involved in both the technology and construction industry for almost 30 years. He has spent much of his career working alongside Vernon Mason as a technology consultant and integrator. He loves to travel with his family and spend time working on projects around the house.
MARIELLE CRISANTI
Principal Consultant & Partner, CTS
For well over a decade, Marielle has worked in the audio-visual industry becoming a regarded technical expert in the fields of IPTV, unified communications, and LED display systems. Marielle serves as a local leader for the AVIXA Women's Council. She loves to spend time outdoors, traveling, camping and exploring with her family.
CHRISTINE YAKIELASHEK
Office & Project Manager
Christine is an administrative professional with over 30-years’ experience. She has spent much of her career working within the construction industry and brings that experience to her role with VWMason. In addition to her Office Manager duties, Christine supports our project management and contract administration work. She loves to travel in the winter and spend her summers in the backyard.
MIKE WHITMORE
AV/Broadcast Technologist, CTS
Mike is an industry professional of 3 years; involved in AV integration and broadcast engineering. An SBE-certified Broadcast Technologist with a background in 3D modelling and programming, he is eager to bring his varied skill set and experience to VWMason. Mike enjoys listening to music, lifting weights, and watching scary movies with his partner.
JOHN HERDER
Audio & Acoustics Consultant
M.Sc. Architectural Acoustics
John specializes in the areas of room acoustical & loudspeaker modeling, simulation, audio systems design, and commissioning. He holds a Master of Science degree in Architectural Acoustics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He enjoys lecturing on topics such as acoustics and audio system measurements for commercial venues and recording studios at the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology.
